I try to keep up with the world of affiliate marketing and we work with a couple of big affiliate for our appliance parts sales like, http://www.linkshare.com/ and http://www.linkconnector.com/.

The other day one of our appliance parts affiliates that we work with through linkconnector called me directly to offer us a toll free parts line and a parts website that would include our name in the URL and our logo in the header.

Now this was something new to me that I had not heard of before and the longer he talked to me about it the more I become interested in trying the program.

Our toll free parts line goes to there call center and a recording says, "Thanks for calling our appliance parts hotline, press 1 for English and 2 for Spanish". Then when the live operator comes on they answer, "ApplianceJunk Appliance Parts".

Here is the URL to the parts store they set us up with.

http://appliancejunk.partsquik.com/

As you will notice our name is in the URL of every page and the best part is our logo is in the header of every page.

We of coarse get a cut of all sales, just like any other affiliate program. But I really hope having our logo in the header of the parts site will drive traffic to our forum.

So I learned about a new (to me) type of affiliate marketing.

Is anyone else working with this type of affiliate marketing and if so does it help drive traffic to your forum?

This is interesting. Thanks for sharing it with us.

The one concern I would have would be how good the call center people were. Bad call center people can reflect badly on your brand. You might have researched this a bit, though. Smile Thoughts?

Thanks,

Patrick

That is a good question and I have called the number a couple times to test it out.

Seems ok to me. I have a feeling that our members and guest that use the service will let me know one way or another if they have a bad experience with it.

Now if we just had a static site without a forum then I may never hear any feedback about it.

Anyone else using this type of affiliate marketing with there site?
