Thanks everyone for the helpful suggestions. I'm now using the system below;

A VB Admin put a script on my hosting account, that creates a daily back up of the forum database, on the server. Sorry but I don't know what the script is or how it works. But it is not overly complex and it did not take long to install. The person who installed it charged me a very small fee for it ($20 or less).

I use SyncBack to download a copy of the a database from the server to my PC, everyday.

I use the free service from http://mozy.com/ to do a twice daily remote back up of my PC.

Hence, at any time I should have four copies of my VB database, that are less than 24 hours old.

1. The live copy on the server
2. The backup copy on the server
3. The backup copy on my PC
4. The backup copy on Mozy.

I recently ran a trial and had a VB Admin set up my forum on a different domain, using the most recent back up of the database. It worked just fine.

Cool, Fergal. Smile You're much better off than you were before! Good work.
